Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1.Patients with ASA physical status grade I to IV aged above 18 years. 2.Patients Scheduled to undergo elective surgery under general anaesthesia with endotracheal intubation and need a nasogastric tube as a usual course of management. 3.A patient whose trachea is intubated under chemical paralysis, needing a nasogastric tube placement.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1.Presence of nasal mass, nasal stenosis 2.History of corrosive poisoning 3.Uncontrolled bleeding diathesis 4.Recent radiotherapy to head and neck 5.Presence of cleft lip or palate 6.Significant deviated nasal septum 7.Esophageal stricture and varices 8.Base of skull fracture 9.A patient who will not require X-ray in their usual course of management. 10. Pregnant and lactating mother. 11. Patients not willing to participate in the study.
