Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: For case:1. Blood pressure criteria for included age-groups a) 6-13 years: more than 95th percentile to less than 95th percentile +12 mmHg b) more than 13 to 18 years: more than 130/80 mmHg For controls a) Healthy volunteers b) Blood pressure criteria for included age-groups 6-13 years: less than 95th percentile (elevated) and less than 90th percentile (normal) 13-18 yrs: less than 120/80 mmHg
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Participants not ready to give assent or parents unwilling to give consent - Blood pressure criteria for excluded age-groups 2. Ambulatory BP: a) 6-13 years: less than 95th percentile b) More than 13 to 18 years: less than 120/80 mmHg c)Children already practising yoga d)Children with previous history congenital malformations, chronic kidney disease, congenital heart disease, malignancy or bone marrow transplant, evidence of raised intracranial pressure, taking medications which are known to increase blood pressure, and other systemic illnesses associated with hypertension.
