Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
To compare between dexmedetomidine and propofol for sedation on the incidence of new onset atrial fibrillation and atrial fibrillation with fast ventricular rate (in pre-existing atrial fibrillation) in elective post cardiac surgery patients.Timepoint: 96 hours or until extubation(whichever is earlier)

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
To compare the length of ICU stayTimepoint: Until in ICU;To compare the volume of cardiac drainsTimepoint: Until in ICU
