Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Presence of second permanent molar No history of allergy No history of systemic disease Missing or grossly carious first permanent molar

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Knife edge alveolar ridge Absence of second permanent molar History of allergy History of systemic disease

Rate of 2nd molar protraction (in the absence of 1st molar) during space closure calculated by reduction in linear measurement between mesial surface of 2nd permanent molar and distal surface of 2nd pre-molar for a period of 6 months.Timepoint: T0- Baseline T2- 6 months

Rate of 2nd molar protraction during space closure calculated by reduction in linear measurement between mesial surface of 2nd permanent molar & distal surface of 2nd pre-molar in a period of 3 months time.Timepoint: from T0 to T1 & From T1 to T2
