Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1.Systemically healthy patients aged 35-70 yrs. (no history of hypertension, diabetes mellitus, cardiovascular diseases, immunocompromised conditions as well as any condition that could influence the periodontal status). 2.Patients with no history of antibiotic, anti-inflammatory drugs, anti-oxidants and immunosuppressants use for at least 3 months before study. 3.Patients with moderate chronic periodontitis according to the AAP 1999 Classification (with a probing depth of â?¥4mm and â?¤6mm)

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Smokers 2.Betel quid or tobacco chewers 3.Pregnant and lactating women 4.Patients who underwent any periodontal treatment in last one year

i.To evaluate the clinical and anti-inflammatory effects of indocyanine green mediated photodynamic therapy in patients with Chronic periodontitis. ii.To compare the clinical and anti-inflammatory effects of indocyanine green and methylene blue mediated photodynamic therapy in patients with Chronic periodontitis. Timepoint: The clinical outcomes are evaluated at baseline, 1months and 3 months The anti inflammatory outcomes are evaluated at baseline and at 1month.
