Health Condition 1: P84- Other problems with newborn

Interventions

Intervention1: two hourly feeding: The intervention group will receive three hourly enteral feeding on day1 as 10 - 20 mL/kg/day, increased by 20-30 mL/kg/day till they reach full feed @150 mL/kg/day.

Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: small for gestational age neonates birth weight less than 1500 grams started on feeds within 48 hours of life

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1)Major congenital malformation including Tracheo-Esophageal Fistula, Oesophageal Atresia, duodenal atresia interfering or delaying feed initiation 2) Chromosomal abnormalities 3) Intestinal perforation before initiation of feed 4) Infants with absent or reversed end diastolic flow (AEDF/REDF) in antenatal usg 5) Infants who are severely sick, on invasive ventilation with shock (on inotropes)
