Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Patients of both sexes and age group between 20 to 60 years were considered. Patients with clinical features suggestive of superficial dermatophytic infection. All socio-economical classes were considered.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Tinea cases with complications like cicatricial alopecia (permanent hair loss) etc. which were irreversible. Resistant tinea cases due to over/ excessive use of steroids. Patients on prolonged immunosuppression and antibiotic therapy. Cases with irregular follow ups & patients who had not followed personal hygiene advises and auxiliary measures as advised by the physician. Cases of chronic disease with irreversible pathological changes.

| Clinical improvement – Disappearance or relief of symptoms, improvement in general health & reduction in area spread. For the effective assessment & evaluation, disease intensity scores will also be maintained according to the MYMOP (Measure Yourself Medical Outcome Profile) scoring profile. 1. Significant improvement: The significant decrease in the intensity & frequency of the presenting & associated complaints with a sense of well-being at least for 6 weeks of study period. (MYMOP profile score difference between 3 to 6) 2.Moderate Improvement: Decrease in the intensity & frequency of presenting complaints & associated complaints with slight sense of well-being for 4 to 6 weeks of period. (MYMOP profile score difference between 1 to 2) 3.Status quo: Neither increase nor decrease in the presenting & associated complaints.
