Health Condition 1: E119- Type 2 diabetes mellitus without complications

Interventions

Intervention1: Metformin + Pumpkin Seed Powder: metformin 500mg along with pumpkin seed powder 5gm twice a day before food for 90 days. Control Intervention1: Metformin: 500mg twice daily before food

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Fasting plasma glucose more than or equal to 126 mg/dl 2 hr plasma glucose more than or equal to 200 mg/dl HbA1c between 6.5 to 10% Patient not in the condition of acute illness

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patient with T1DM or any other kind of diabetes. Patient having HbA1c more than 10%. T2DM patient aged below 30 and above 70 years. T2DM women with pregnancy. T2DM patient with any other critical condition such as liver or kidney infections.

MeasureTime frame
1.To assess the safety of whole pumpkin seed powder in Type 2 Diabetes mellitus patient. 2. To assess the change in lipid profile of the patients of T2DM at the baseline and after the completion of the intervention period. 3. To assess the change in the Liver and Kidney function tests of the T2DM patient before and after completion of the Intervention period.Timepoint: 90 days
