Intervention1: Ultrasound guided bilateral superior laryngeal nerve block: 50% of the participants will recieve ultrasound guided superior laryngeal nerve block and the other 50% participants will not

Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: American Society of Anaesthesiologists Physical Score 1 and 2 Patients undergoing any elective surgery under general anaesthesia with ProSeal LMA insertion

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Emergency surgeries Preoperative sore throat and hoarseness High risk of aspiration Anticipated difficult airway Allergic to local anaesthetics

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Subjective grading of sore throat between two groupsTimepoint: 0.5th hour, 6th hour and 24th hour post surgery

MeasureTime frame
Comparision of the severity of dysphagia between the subjects recieving superior laryngeal nerve block & the subjects who donot recieve block by subjective grading of dysphagiaTimepoint: Assessed at 0.5th hour 6th hour & 24th hour post surgery
