Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Haemoglobin 8-11.9 gram/dl Mentzer Index more than 13 Mean corpuscular volume less than 80 femtolitre Serum Ferritin less than 30 microgram/litre Total Iron Binding capacity more than 450 mcg/dl Patient giving written informed consent

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients with haemoglobin less than 8 gm/dl (severe anaemia as per WHO classification) Patients having Low TIBC less than 240 mcg/dL and High serum ferritin more than 307 mcg/l Diagnosed cases of unstable mental or psychiatric illness or other uncontrolled systemic illness or life- threatening infections affecting quality of life or any vital organ failure. 4 Pregnancy, puerperium and lactation. Substance abuse and/or dependence. Self-reported immune-compromised state. Patients suffering from Haemoglobinopathies. Patients who are already enrolled in some other study. Patients who are not willing to give the consent.
