Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Primary carious Class I lesions in the permanent molar teeth requiring restoration 2. Participants should have atleast two class 1 cavities on both sides in permanent molars scored as code 5 according to International Caries Detection and Assessment System (ICDAS) 3. Participants of age group 18-50 years will be included with good oral hygiene and general health 4. Participants with posterior tooth with no periapical pathology or symptoms of irreversible pulpitis 5. Patients with healthy periodontium

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patient related 1. Participants younger than 18 years 2. Pregnant ladies, smokers and participants with medical complications are not included 3. Patients with periodontitis 4. Patients with xerostomia 5. Bruxers 6. Patients incapable to undergo rubber dam isolation Tooth related 1. Teeth with pulpal or periapical pathology 2. Endodontically treated teeth 3. Absence of occlusal contact with antagonists teeth 4. Attrition and erosion 5. Fixed or removable prosthetic tooth as antagonist

MeasureTime frame
There will be difference in clinical performance of composite restoration in teeth pretreated with 0.2% PHMB and teeth not pretreated with 0.2% PHMB. Timepoint: follow up after 3,6,9,12 and 15 months

There will be no difference in clinical performance of composite restoration in teeth pretreated with 0.2% PHMB and teeth not pretreated with 0.2% PHMB. Timepoint: follow up after 3,6,9,12 and 15 months
