Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: American Society of Anesthesiologists physical status I and II, scheduled for elective surgeries under general anaesthesia requiring endotracheal intubation will be included in this study.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Hypersensitivity to two study drugs Anticipated difficult airway Body mass index = 30 kg/m2 History of reactive airway diseases, obstructive sleep apnea, hypertension and chronic drug abuse (narcotic) Pregnancy and lactation

Primary

MeasureTime frame
To compare the changes in heart rate readings in the two groups, nebulised fentanyl citrate and magnesium sulphate. Timepoint: Baseline pre-nebulisation to 2 minutes post-intubation

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
To compare the changes in systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, and mean arterial pressureTimepoint: Baseline pre-nebulization to post-nebulization/ pre-induction, at the time of laryngoscopy, 1 minute, 2 minutes, 5 minutes, and 10 minutes post-intubation. ;To compare the heart rateTimepoint: at post-nebulisation, at the time of laryngoscopy, one minute, 5 minutes, and 10 minutes post-intubation time points.
