Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients between the age of 18-70 years, With CKD(ASA grade III) requiring primary radiocephalic arteriovenous fistula to facilitate regular maintenance hemodialysis, Who are willing to give the written informed consent to participate in the study will be included in the study.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1)Patients Who refuse to accept the suggested anaesthetic technique. 2)Patients coming for revision of previously blocked RC-AVFistula. 3)Patients With significant coagulopathy and other contraindications to peripheral nerve blocks. 4)Patients with BMI more than 35. 5)Patients with Cognitive disability and inability to understand how to use VAS. 6)Patients with Uncontrolled cardio, respiratory, hepatic or endocrine disease. 7)Patients who are allergic to the study drug. 8)Patients who are Pregnant and lactating mothers.

To compare the measurements such as diameter and flow rate of the radial artery and cephalic vein before and after anaesthesia by ultrasound doppler technique which will influence the suitability of radiocephalic arteriovenous fistula in performing hemodialysis and therefore reduce the primary failure rate.Timepoint: Baseline, 1 week, 6 weeks

Time to achieve block with either techniques & duration of anaesthesia.Timepoint: Immediately after the block;To compare the postoperative pain relief & patient satisfaction using the Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) score between the two groupsTimepoint: after the procedure;To observe for any hemodynamic disturbances & any side effects & complications.Timepoint: during the procedure
