Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: The inclusion criteria consisted of patient requiring extraction of 1st premolar as a part of orthodontic treatment, aged between 17 and 35 years, with good general and oral health without any history of drug usage or any skeletal or dental deformity.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: The exclusion criteria included individuals with a history of long term medication because nonsteroidal anti inflammatory drug and hormone supplements are known to interfere with bone metabolism, individuals with unilateral chewing or parafunctional habit, skeletal crossbite, and occlusal interferences
