Intervention1: Indian Instrumental Music: Indian Instrumental Music as supplement to Nitrous oxide oxygen inhalational sedation by means of ear phones and speakers given once for a duration of 30 mins

Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Children in the age group of 9 to 12 years requiring restorative treatment under nitrous oxide sedation AND ASA class 1 and 2 Children who will be found anxious using Modified Child Dental Anxiety Scale faces version (MCDASf) AND without any previous history of nitrous oxide â?? oxygen sedation procedure and requiring restorative procedure not exceeding 30 mins.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Children who are unable to accept breathing through the nasal mask. Children with epilepsy or seizures and taking medication with sedative effects Children with sensory processing disorders, musculoskeletal disorders and recent ear surgery. Children with prevailing upper respiratory tract infection and chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Blood pressure and Pulse rate checked as physiologic anxiety markers would show some difference with the music interventionTimepoint: Parameters will be checked first at the time participant is seated in the dental chair , second reading will be taken after cavity preparation and last and third reading will be taken 5 mins post sedation.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
The results of this study will help in patient care for children with dental anxiety issues.Timepoint: Effect will be recorded at baseline for single visit of the participant
