Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Patients with Negative (2), Positive (3) and Definitely Positive (4) Behaviour according to the Frankl Behaviour Rating scale. 2. Patients undergoing their first dental appointment. 3. Patients indicated for treatment under Local Anaesthesia. 4. Patients undergoing treatment for upto 30 Minutes under Nitrous Oxide inhalation sedation. 5. Patients whose parents gave informed consent for participation in the study.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients with definitely negative (1) behaviour according to the Frankl Behaviour Rating Scale. 2. Patients with any medical conditions. 3. Patients suffering from breathing disorders or are mouth breathers. 4. Patients on any medication such as analgesics, antibiotics, etc.

the presence of noise in a dental operatory can effect the depth of sedation & further enhance the anxiety of a childTimepoint: 3 time points - before treatment (Baseline), during treatment and after treatment (30 minutes post-treatment).

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
the presence of noise can also effect the overall quality of treatment due to increase in anxietyTimepoint: 5 days
