Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1.patients diagnosed with COPD according to Global Initiative for Chronic Obstructive Lung Disease (GOLD) criterion, and is non-anemic (i.e Hemoglobin 13 in males and 12 in females) 2.All patients willing for the study and giving written informed consent.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.patients with suspected blood loss 2.pregnant and lactating females 3.patients on treatment for anemia 4.patients with malignancies 5.non-cooperative for physiological tests such as spirometry
