Eligibility
Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Inclusion criteria 1)Gestational age between 28-37 weeks 2)Gestational age beyond 37 weeks- 42 weeks 3)Regular painful uterine contractions minimum of 4 in 20 minutes or 8 in 60 minutes. 4)With intact membranes 5)Effacement = 80%. 6)Cervical dilatation between 1cm to 3 cm 7)Singleton pregnancy with cephalic presentation Exclusion criteria 1)Antepartum hemorrhage. 2)Eclampsia (or) severe pre-eclampsia 3)Anemia (Hb 4)Heart disease in pregnancy 5)Congenital anomaly 6)Intra uterine foetal death 7)Foetal distress 8)Chorioamnionitis 9)Hydramnios 10)Premature rupture of membra 11)Sensitivity or contra indication to nifedipine/nitrates 12)Treatment with other tocolytics within 24 hours
