Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1 Patients suffering from Gridhrasi in the age group of 20- 60 years, irrespective of their gender, caste, religion, or socioeconomic status. 2 Patients having positive SLR test on examination. 3 Diagnosed cases of lumbar disc herniation at all stages with MRI diagnosis will be considered for the study. 4 As per guideloines, ICD code M51.06; M51.16; M51.26 will be considered

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1 Spondylolisthesis, herpes simplex. 2 Hip and S.I. joint pathology. 3 Pyriformis / Gluteal Syndromes 4 Sciatic nerve pathology/nerve sheath tumors 5 Lumbar Canal Stenosis presenting with Neurogenic Claudication. 6 Acute cauda equina syndrome 7 Uncontrolled diabetes mellitus 8 TB and Malignancy of spine. 9 Cardiac disease 10 Pregnancy 11 Patient with surgical history of spine 12 Spinal deformity, severe traumatic injury

•Documentation of clinical and MRI findings and treatment outcomes of individual patient of the study in the patient performa sheet.Timepoint: after 106 days

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
1. To examine whether Vataj and Vata Kaphaj variants of the disease have a differential presentation on qualitative and quantitative MRI parameters. 2. To examine whether Multifidus muscle has different fat infiltration patterns between the two variants of the disease. Timepoint: after 106 days
