Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: ASA 1 AND 2

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Contraindications to spinal anaesthesia. Allergy or intolerance to local anaesthetics. Local skin infections. History of long term steroid therapy.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
1.To record and compare the onset of sensory and motor block. 2.To record and compare the duration of sensory and motor block. Timepoint: 1.To evaluate the Onset of sensory and motor blocks every one minute for 5 minutes or till the desired level of block (T10) will be achieved 2. To evaluate the Duration of sensory and motor blocks every 1hr till 4hr after completion of surgery

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
1. To record and compare postoperative pain by Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) for 24 hours. 2. To compare time of first rescue analgesia. 3. To compare total analgesic consumption in 24 hr post operatively. 4.To record hemodynamic parameters. 5. To record any complications (post-operative shivering, nausea, vomiting, hypotension ,bradycardia.) Timepoint: 1. VAS postoperatively every 1 hrly for 4 hr then every 4 hrly till 24 hr 2. hemodynamic parameters to be record every 5 min till 15 min then every 15 min till 1 hr then every 1 hrly for 4 hr and after that every 4 hrly till 24 hr
