Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: – Diagnosed cases of atrial fibrillation of all age groups – Planned for conventional DC cardioversion – On adequate anticoagulation for at least three weeks prior to DC cardioversion or trans-esophageal ECHO showing no LA/LAA clot

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: – Pregnant ladies – Not giving informed consent

MeasureTime frame
To study the incremental benefit of double sequential external defibrillation in restoring sinus rhythm in patients with atrial fibrillation with failed conventional DC cardioversionTimepoint: Primary outcome will be studied immediately after cardioversion. Proportion of patients maintaining sinus rhythm will be studied at 1 month, 6 months and last followup.
