Intervention1: oral dextrose gel: 200 mg/kg (0.5ml/kg) of oral 40% dextrose gel taken in a 2 ml syringe and administered into the buccal cavity at birth and capillary blood glucose levels checked ever

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: preterm, small for gestational age, large for gestational age, infants of diabetic mothers

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: sepsis, endocrine causes
