Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Case definition: 1.All diagnosed cases of pediatric bacterial pneumonia 2.All age group 1 up to 6 years 3.Cough, fever and dyspnea 4.Respiratory rate of 40 or more than 40 per minute according to WHO classification of pediatric pneumonia 5.Lower chest indrawing, normal oxygen saturation (92-100%) according to WHO criteria for pediatric pneumonia 6.Changes in laboratory investigations of raised CRP, WBC, ESR and opacification seen in chest X-ray Other inclusion criteria apart from case definition 1. Patients will be taken irrespective of socioeconomic status 2. Patients whose parents are willing to give their consent 3.Children under allopathic treatment for bacterial pneumonia will be included

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Cases that do not fulfill the case definition 2.Patients with severe pneumonia according to WHO i.e lower chest indrawing, unable to breastfeed or drink, convulsions, lethargy, unconsciousness, severe respiratory distress, central cyanosis etc 3.Cases with chronic respiratory diseases like asthma, tuberculosis, bronchitis etc 4.Patients whose parents are not willing to give their consent 5.Mentally challenged patient will be excluded
