Eligibility
Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: The study will include adult patients greater than 18 years to the ICU who are expected to require invasive mechanical ventilation for at least 48 hours
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Patients with known tracheal/oesophageal injury, tracheostomy, pre existing pneumonia, or those enrolled in other clinical trials will be excluded from the study
