Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Age = 18 years and = 65 years, BMI=30 kg/m2, American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) grading I-II, Undergoing elective surgery with general anaesthesia and endotracheal intubation and providing Consent to participate

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Pregnant women, Patients with predicted difficult airway, Patients with abnormal pharynx or laryngeal anatomy, Patients with severe cardiovascular or pulmonary diseases, hepatic or renal dysfunction, Patients with preoperative coagulation disorders, Surgery done in prone position, Refusal to participate

To compare the predictive accuracy of ultrasound guided laryngeal column width compared to traditional extubation readiness criteria (cuff leak test).Timepoint: Post induction, Prior to extubation

MeasureTime frame
To compare the predictive accuracy of other airway ultrasound parameters in conjunction with traditional extubation readiness criteria. To assess whether pre-anesthetic ultrasound measurements can serve as predictive markers for the risk of post-operative respiratory failure. To accurately measure delta changes in ultrasound airway parameters post induction from baseline parameters. Co relation of airway ultra sonographic parameters with BIS values Timepoint: Pre operatively, after pre oxygenation, post induction, every hour till end of surgery, prior to extubation, post operative period
