Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients scheduled for elective hand surgeries under the Department of Burns and Plastic surgery. ASA 1 and 2 including both the sex. Adults greater than 18 years.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Refusal of the patient to participate in the study History of focal neurological deficit Previous history of sensory or motor disorders in the limb to be operated on. History of allergy to local anaesthetics Infection at puncture site

MeasureTime frame
The success rate of the blockade of both median and ulnar nerve to provide complete anaesthesia for hand surgery.Timepoint: Pin prick test will be done for sensory blockade in median and ulnar nerve territories at 4 minutes 8 minutes 12 minutes 16 minutes and at 20 minutes after block.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Incomplete Block Dull sensation grade 1 in any of the nerve territory during surgery. It will be managed by rescue local anaethetics 2 percent 4ml Inj Lignocaine or Fentanyl 1to 2 mcg per kg IV. Block failure Pain during surgery not managed by above manoeuvres administration of GATimepoint: 3 hour
