Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: (1) A parent (mother or father) playing major carer role in terms of providing support for various needs (such as financial needs, supervision of medication, medical consultation, emotional support and encouragement etc.). (2)Face-to-face contact with the patient for, at least 10 hours a week. (3)The illness duration of the patient whose care the parent is involved in, should be at least one year. (4)Involved in caregiving for last, at least, 6 months (5)At least, 10 years of education (6)Comfortable with the use of technology such as video conferencing facility

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: (1)A caregiver having an intellectual developmental disability (clinically determined) that impairs their understanding of therapy content (2)Having any major psychiatric illness (excluding subclinical depression as indicated by BDI score of 12 or less) precluding participation in therapy (e.g. severely depressed, highly aroused)

(1) Reduction in Psychological distress (2) reduction in Expressed emotion (3) reduction in Hopelessness (4) enhanced Coping to the stressors (5) reduction in Perceived caregiver burden Timepoint: 1st time point: Baseline (at the time of random allocation of the participants to the treatment or waitlist control groups. 2nd time-point: After 5 weeks of Baseline intervention 3rd time-point: After 8 weeks of 2nd assessment

The caregivers’ satisfaction with the developed intervention, their perceived impact of the therapy module, identification of the motivational facilitators & barriers towards undergoing the therapy module, suggestions on improvement of the therapy module etc.Timepoint: After 5 weeks of baseline assessment (when the intervention will be over)
