Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1) Patients from 4-12 years of age 2) Patients where the duration of admission >/ 4 days 3) Informed consent obtained from parents or legal guardians. 4) Patients who have been admitted to the PICU who are undergoing general or surgical treatment

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1) Subjects with a communicable disease 2) Patients who were admitted 3) Parents who did not give consent. 4) Patients who can maintain their oral hygiene. 5) Patients who acquired pneumonia on admission to the PICU
