Health Condition 1: K044- Acute apical periodontitis of pulpal origin

Interventions

Intervention1: Nitrofurantoin: 25mg of nitrofurantoin tablet mixed with 1ml of normal saline will be placed for 1 week Intervention2: Calcium Hydroxide: 100mg of calcium hydroxide is mixed with 1 drop

Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1)Symptomatic Apical periodontitis in primary molars 2) Children who are rated as positive and according to the Frankl Behaviour Rating Scale (1962)

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1)Primary molars with grossly decayed crown structure 2)Children who have taken analgesics/anti-inflammatory drugs within the last 24 hours 3)Children with a history of allergy to any component of the local anaesthetic solution/medicament. 4)Teeth with internal root resorption
