Intervention1: VCO group: Virgin coconut oil(VCO) group will be advised to take 15 ml of VCO twice daily for a period of 1 month using a table spoon and sip, suck, and pull the liquid through the teet
close eyes and start swishing liquid from left to right, front to back approximately for 10 minutes or till the subjects feel fullness in mouth. Oil pulling should be ideally performed daily in the mo

Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Systemically healthy individuals of age 18 to 45 years with presence of extrinsic black stain and having a Gasparetto score greater than score 1

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Past and current tobacco users. 2.Individuals who use any other mouthwashes as a routine practice. 3.Individuals who take iron supplements or other (Ayurvedic) medications 4.Individuals allergic to coconut oil.

MeasureTime frame
Recording of McPherson stain index and OHI-STimepoint: Every subject recruited into study shall be reviewed at 1 month, 3 months and 6 months

1.To correlate the stain scores with OHI-S scores. 2.To assess the compliance of using virgin coconut oil.Timepoint: 1st, 3rd and 6th month
