Health Condition 1: F20- Schizophrenia

Interventions

Intervention1: Active iTBS: facial emotion recognition test done before the session begins ( T0) followed by 20 sessions of stimulation
2 sessions a day (3 pulses at 50 Hz repeated at 200-ms intervals for 2 s (i.e., at 5 Hz). A 2-s train of iTBS will be repeated every 10 s for a total of 990 pulses per session). Each session will take

Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients diagnosed of schizophrenia according to ICD-10 DCR, who are on stable anti-psychotic medication for at least 2 weeks. Provides written informed consent for participation in the study.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Presence of any other psychiatric disorder, organic mental disorder, or mental retardation Known substance dependence other than caffeine or nicotine in the last two years History of any neurological disorder like epilepsy, CNS neoplasms or infections History of any head injury or brain trauma History of neurosurgery Presence of cardiac pacemakers, metallic implants, clips, electrodes, chips, pumps, stimulators, cochlear implants, deep brain stimulators, permanent piercings History of exposure to tattoos containing ferro-magnetic ink Pregnant and breast-feeding women Any other neuro-modulation intervention received in the last two weeks

Facial emotion recognition improvement will be assessed by facial emotion recognition task by Mandal (1987).Timepoint: Baseline: before the delivery of first session ( T0) After completion of 20 sessions of iTBS; within 12 hours of last session (T1) Follow-up: After 2 weeks of the last session.
