Intervention1: IV cefotaxime 2gm: obese patients with BMI =30 kg/m2, undergoing Hernia surgery will be given IV cefotaxime (after 0.1 mg test dose) 60 minutes prior to surgery for surgical prophylaxi

Eligibility
Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: All obese patients above 18 years and with a BMI = 30 kg/m2 undergoing hernia surgery
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. known history of allergy or anaphylaxis to cefotaxime or other betalactam antibiotics either proven or suspected 2.Pregnancy 3.preoperative therapy with antibiotics 4.Refusing to consent to the study 5.Serum creatinine level greater than 1.3 mg/dl
