Intervention1: addition of clonidine to bupivacaine: patients will be given bilateral scalp block with 20ml of 0.25 percentage bupivacaine i.e. 10ml on each side and 1mcgs per kg clonidine

Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: ASA 1 to 3 patients posted for elective craniotomy
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Patient refusal 2. Emergency cases 3. Patients with uncontrolled hypertension 4. patients with preoperative bradycardia 5. patients with ischemic heart disease or cardiac arrhythmias 6. patients with severe pulmonary or hepatic or renal disease 7. drug allergy to local anesthetic used or clonidine 8. patients on alpha blockers preoperatively
