Eligibility
Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1.Mild to moderate hypertriglyceridemia( serum triglycerides more than 150 but less than 500 mg per dl 2.On a stable dose of statins for three months or not on statins 3. BMI more than 25 kilograms per square meters
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Any lipid lowering therapy other than statins 2. Hypothyroidism or hyperthyroidism 3. History of any macrovascular complications of diabetes including coronary artery disease, cerebrovascular disease of peripheral arterial disease 4. Pregnancy or lactation 5. History of cancer, pancreatitis, or any major illness of the liver, kidney and central nervous system 6. Subjects on systemic glucocorticoids, beta blockers, thiazides and nicotinic acid
