Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: All patients above 18 years of age, admitted to the ICU either directly from ED or via OR within 24 hours of presentation to the emergency department and with an injury severity score >16, will be screened for inclusion

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients with associated severe head injury 2. Patients with blunt or penetrating cardiac injury 3. Refusal to participate 4. Patients in whom Troponin sample was not sent on admission to ICU
