Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Adult patients aged 18-80 years with ARDS as per the Berlin criteria. ARDS patients who are not COVID-19-positive patients. Patients of ARDS on invasive mechanical ventilation (IMV). Patients who are recruited within 48 hours of ARDS diagnosis.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients with chest trauma and ARDS. Patients who are already known to have chronic kidney disease (CKD). Documented air leak syndromes. ARDS patients who were planned for palliative care. ARDS patients on non-invasive ventilation. Patients in whom DVT is proven where femoral vein assessment may be inaccurate.
