Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Subjects aged 40 - 60 years irrespective of gender, marital and socioeconomic status. 2. Subjects having signs and symptoms of Asthikshaya. 3. Subjects with BMD t-score <-1.0 4. Subjects of serum calcium level < 2.2 mmol/L (< 8.8 mg/dL) 5. Subjects willing and able to participate for 12 weeks.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Subjects with a history of fragility fracture and long bone fracture in the last 6 months. 2. Subjects under prolonged immobilization for = 6 weeks. 3. Subjects receiving any drug which is known to affect bone metabolism; Bisphosphonates, Calcitonin, Vitamin-D and corticosteroids for more than 3 months. 4. Subjects suffering with any structural deformities, severe renal and hepatic diseases, tuberculosis. 5. Subjects known to be suffering with hypo/hyper-parathyroidism, hypo/hyper- thyroidism. 6. Subjects with any metabolic bone diseases like, osteomalacia, marble bone disease, osteogenesis imperfecta, Paget’s disease. 7. Uncontrolled diabetes mellitus (HbA1c>10%).
