Interventions

Intervention1: CUSTOMISED DIABETES EDUCATION: CUSTOMISED VIDEO TEACHING WILL BE PROVIDED TO THE EXPERIMENTAL GROUP . TYPE 2 DIABETIC PATIENTS ON ORAL GYPOGLYCEMIC AGENTS AND BMI ABOVE 25.5 ARE CONSID

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1.Patients diagnosed to have diabetes for less than 1 year 2.HBAIC More than 7 3.Both male and female patients with type 2 diabetes 4.Patients on oral hypoglycemic agents. 5.Patients with BMI for more than 29. 6.Patients having the habit of cigarette smoking & alcohol 7.Patients with co-morbidity of hypertension

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Patients on insulin 2.Patients not willing to participate 3.Pregnannt /lactating women 4.Patients with chronic complications& could not communicate effectively

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
There will be inprovement in self-efficacy & self-management scores and a significant reduction in HBAIC Values to less than 7%Timepoint: 6 months duration after post intervention

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
THERE WLL BE SIGNIFICANT BEHAVIOURAL CHANGES LIKE IMPROVED PHYSICAL ACTIVITY, REDUCTION IN BODY MASS INDEX TO THE DESIRED LEVELTimepoint: POST INTERVENTION 6 MONTHS DURATION;There will be significant behavioral changes like improved physical activity, & reduction in body mass index to the desired level.Timepoint: Post-intervention 6 months duration
