Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Acute Kidney Injury 3 requiring kidney replacement therapy Metabolic acidosis (pH = 7.20, HCO3 =12)

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patient unlikely to tolerate RRT Not able to give informed consent Anticipated survival = 72 hours Chronic kidney disease stage 5
