Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Admitted patients with a diagnosis of acute neuromuscular disease with anticipated respiratory muscle involvement

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Refusal of consent 2. Patients with cardiac, renal, or liver failure 3. Radiological uni- or bi-lateral diaphragmatic paralysis 4. Poor ultrasound images 5. Severe sepsis at admission (Septic shock, multiorgan dysfunction syndrome)
