Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Adults aged 18 years or older who are the head of the family in rural households of the Dharwad district. 2. Should be able to communicate in English or Kannada.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Individuals who were unable to communicate or provide informed consent. 2. Unwilling participants, who have not signed the consent form

The outcome measures in this study aim to understand how healthcare costs affect rural households in the Dharwad district and how health insurance might make a difference. We are going to look at things like how much money households spend on healthcare, how often they go to the doctor or hospital, and what strategies they use to manage these costs.Timepoint: 8-10 weeks.—
