Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1.IUGR neonates diagnosed during pregnancies by antenatal ultrasound as abdominal Circumference 2. Mothers of these IUGR neonates

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: i. Multiple births ii. Proven Intrauterine infection iii. Major malformations iv. Maternal chronic diseases v. Identifiable syndromic neonate

1.Abnormalities in placental and neonatal microarray, 2.Abnormal placental histopathology in idiopathic IUGR. 3. 5.Comparison with placentae from PE and healthy control mothers Timepoint: 18 months

Maternal VEGF , PlGF and cord IGF1 and their correlations with birth weight and growth at 18 months. 4. Abnormal insulin polymorphisms at birth and insulin resistance at 18 monthsTimepoint: 18 months
