Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1.ASA grade 1 and 2. 2.Age 18 to 60 years. 3.Both gender 4.Elective and emergency surgeries under general anaesthesia

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. BMI >35 kg/m2 2. Pregnant women. 3.Renal or Hepatic impairment 4.Cardiopulmonary disease 5.Cardiac rhythm abnormalities –heart block 6. Allergy to drugs being used

MeasureTime frame
To compare the effects of Dexmedetomidine and Magnesium sulphate on hemodynamic response during intubation.Timepoint: On entering operation theatre baseline vital Is monitored followed by 5,10 minutes from the time of test drug administration followed by 2 minutes after induction of general Anesthesia and 1,3,5,10 minutes after intubation followed by every 30 minutes till 120 minutes vitals are monitored

To compare intraoperative time of requirement of first dose of muscle relaxantsTimepoint: The time of requirement of first dose of muscle relaxants based on the changes in capnography- curare notch or raise in airway pressure will be noted;To compare the effects of both drugs on hemodynamic changes during extubationTimepoint: Haemodynamic response to extubation will be recorded immediately after extubation zero minutes (E0), 1 min after extubation (E1), 5 mins after extubation (E5);To compare the effects of both drugs on post-operative sedation of the patient. Side effects if anyTimepoint: The degree of sedation will be assessed in post operative room using RAMSAY sedation scale at recovery room(0 min), after 15 mins, after 30 mins, after 60 mins and after 120 mins.
