Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Preterm neonates born from 26 to 32 weeks of gestation with respiratory distress requiring non-invasive respiratory support at 72 hours of life.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Invasive mechanical ventilation requirement more than first 72hours of life. 2.Neonates with hemodynamic instabilities. 3.Neonates with major congenital malformations. 4.IVH grade 3 or more.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Duration of non-invasive respiratory support.Timepoint: from initiation to off respiratory support, baby is assessed each day, at 2 weeks and 4 weeks.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
1.Number of apnoea episodes 2.Incidence of non-invasive respiratory support failure 3.Hemodynamic instability: number of tachycardia and hypotensive episodes 4.Total duration of oxygen support. 5.total duration of hospital stay. 6.Mean weight gain. 7.Incidence of central line displacement.Timepoint: During NICU stay.
