Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1.Patients who have undergone and completed orthodontic treatment and prescribed for vacuum formed orthodontic retainer 2.Systemically healthy patient 3.Less than DMFT Score 5 4.Participants avoidance of steroid based or antibacterial mouthwash for 2 weeks prior to study 5.Nonsmoker

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Patient on long term antibiotic therapy 2.Pregnant and lactating women

Streptococcus mutans are counted after vacuum formed orthodontic retainers cleaned with three different cleaning methodsTimepoint: T1 - After using a toothbrush with toothpaste for 1 week. T2 - After immersing in chlorhexidine solution for 10 min twice a day for 1 week. T3 - After using oral foam orthodontic retainer cleaner for 1 week.
