Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: ASA grade i and ii patients with intact mental status posted for laproscopic cholecystectomy under general anaesthesia,using LMA after obtaining written and informed consent

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Refused to participate in study Contraindication to chewing gum Impaired pharyngeal /oesophageal function (eg bulbar palsy , achalasia ) Phenylketonuria (contraindication to sweetner aspartame in chewing gum ) Full upper or lower denture (not feasible to chew gum ) Contraindication to any protocolised antiemetic drug (prophylaxis , randomised interven or rescue ) Planeed postoperative mechanical ventilation Patient with history of postoperative nausea vomiting in previous surgery Edentulate patient who are unable to chew gum Allergic to any of used drug Patient having any contraindication for applying for arm pressure eg burns , wounds , trauma , fistula Pregnant and breast feeding females
