Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1) Patients of either gender having age group between 40- 70 years. 2) Patients of Sandhigata Vata presenting the clinical features highlighted in classical literature will be selected randomly irrespective of sex, caste, religion and socio-economic status. 3) Patients willing to co-operate and ready to give written consent.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1) Pregnant and lactacting mothers. 2) Systemic disease like DM, severe anaemia, effusion of affected knee joint, Reumatoid Arthritis. 3) Paralysis, Parkinsonââ?¬•s disease, Infectious diseases such as Tuberculosis, Leprosy, Syphilis,HIV. 4) History of intra-articular knee injection (in particular corticosteroids and hyaluronon equivalents) within the month preceding the study; ongoing treatment with anticoagulants, hydantoin, lithium, steroids, methotrexate. 5) Patients taking antipyretics, analgesics, tranquilizers, hypnotics, excessive alcohol, or any other drug which would interfere with pain perception and need for other drug therapy for OA, except paracetamol (allowed as a rescue drug during the study period).
