Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: • At least 3 to 4 pockets with: 1) = 6 mm residual PPD 2) =5 mm CAL 3) =50% radiographic bone loss 4)Bleeding on Probing ( >40%) ( In atleast two different quadrants)

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. received periodontal treatment within the previous three months. 2. systemic conditions other than diabetes for example immunodeficiency, malignancy, bone metabolic diseases/disorders, renal or thyroid dysfunction, radiation or immunosuppressive therapy and gastrointestinal diseases were enlisted in the exclusion criteria. 3. pregnant or lactating.

Primary

MeasureTime frame
To investigate the association of oxidative balance score with Type 2 Diabetes and stage III periodontitis.Timepoint: outcome will be assessed on the same day as oxidatiev balance score will be calculated after taking brief history of the patient

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
• To compare the strength of association of modifiable risk factor (dietary factors, lifestyle factors, BMI & medication ) with oxidative balance score in Type 2 Diabetes & stage III periodontitis. • To compare the strength of association of non modifiable risk factors – age , gender , family history with oxidative balance score in type 2 diabetes & stage III periodontitis. • To compare the association of oxidative balance score with HbA1C levels in type 2 diabetic patients & stage III periodontitis. Timepoint: ouctcomes measured after taking patients history
