Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients suffering from HF and healthy individuals will be selected for the study. The inclusion criteria for study eligibility for HF patients will be as follows: Male and female patients above 18 years; Physician diagnosed HF based on ESC guidelines, and patients should be NYHA class II/III; HF with reduced ejection fraction = 40%.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Comorbid disease or behavioral or other limitations that interfere with performing Yoga training or prevent the completion of 1 y of exercise training; Elective Cardiovascular procedure or hospitalization planned in the coming 3 months; Heart failure secondary to significant correctable/reversible cause like primary valvular disease/ correctable congential heat disease; participation in exercise training/yoga at regular intervals (more than once per week) at a moderate-to-vigorous intensity at any time in the last 6 weeks; and participation in other clinical trials.

Primary outcomes are change in the flow mediated dilatation (FMD: endothelial dependent) or brachial artery reactivity and functional exercise capacity (6-minute walk test).Timepoint: 3 months

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
1.Secondary outcomes are changes in arterial compliance & stiffness, biomarkers of endothelial dysfunction, oxidative stress & inflammation 2.Rapid changes in global gene expression profiles in the peripheral blood mononuclear cells following the immediate practice of Yoga CaRe for seven days.Timepoint: 3 months
