Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Age, more than 18 years.. 2. Undiagnosed exudative pleural effusion. 3. ADA between 40 and 60

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Respiratory insufficiency, with hypoxemia and hypercapnia 2. Severe chronic obstructive pulmonary disease 3. Pleural thickening of unknown etiology 4. Suspected mesothelioma where the visceral and parietal surfaces fuse 5. Previous pleurodesis 6. Unstable cardiovascular status 7. Known primary malignancy 8. Pleural adhesions 9. Transudative pleural effusion 10. coagulation defects/bleeding diathesis/thrombocytopenia 11. Drug hypersensitivity 12. Severe pulmonary fibrosis. 13. Patient on anticoagulant therapy 14. Inability to lie in lateral decubitus position

MeasureTime frame
1.To describe the etiopathological profile of the patients with exudative pleural effusion with ADA levels 40-60 at a tertiary care Centre, IGMC ShimlaTimepoint: Each samples outcome will be recorded in 2 weeks in case of biopsy specimen and 1day in case of CBNAAT specimen with respect to resource constraint

.To describe the etiopathological profile of the patients with exudative pleural effusion with ADA levels 40-60 at a tertiary care Centre, IGMC ShimlaTimepoint: The final collection of result will be recorded at the end of the trial i.e after 10months for the final compilation of data
